A Year in Pictures..

Is it just me or as the older I get the quicker the years go by? I mean, wow,as a kid I couldn't wait to get bigger. This year when I put up my Christmas decor I got teary eyed thinking how quickly this holiday season went and how my kids keep getting bigger and bigger. I love the stage they are in right now,so appreciative of anything they get and have. I will treasure every moment with them. As 2011 approaches I looked back at some of the pictures I took this past year and wanted to share a few of my favs of my family.
I have big plans for 2011 with my photography,I hope and pray this will be the year it will happen.
I hope your 2010 was great and that 2011 is even better:)

Christmas Phootbooth...

I can't believe Christmas is just two days away! I haven't blogged much these past two weeks due to being so busy,I am sure you all can imagine. Baking, sewing, shopping, wrapping, baking, shopping, wrapping, family dinners, and more wrapping. I love the holidays but I believe once Christmas is over I will take a glass of wine into the tub and no one will ever see me again. Ha.

This was a very fun Christmas family shoot we did this year. We just draped up some material and set out a bunch of props and had fun goofing around. I am not big on the 'normal' Christmas family shoots. This was fun and will be memorable.

I wish everyone a VERY Merry Christmas!

Christmas Bokeh

I wish I could take credit for coming up with different shaped bokeh, but I can't. Ha. A few years back a lady, who I wish I could remember, posted some tutorials of different shaped bokeh. It rocked my world. So every Christmas since then I take pictures of my tree using this technique. Seriously the most easiest thing to do in the world.

All you need to do is cut a piece of construction paper that will fit over your lens. Cut a little shaped tree,star,heart,etc.. in the middle of the paper then tape it over your lens. Thats it. Get creative, you can create all kinds of different shapes. To make it easier you can use some of those craft punches.

So easy.
Tips: If you have a DSLR I find it easier with a shutter speed below 1/40. A low aperture . And you may wanna bump up your ISO.I also find it easier using manual focus.
If you have a Point and Shoot turn your flash off,set your setting to macro, make sure its dark then set an object in front of your camera, like a pencil,so its in between you and your tree. Focus on your pencil till the tree in the background blurs and take the picture. Play around and have fun=))
